About Omnu
A small independent studio making free web tools that do one thing well.
Omnu makes small, free web tools for learners and hobbyists. Each tool is built around a single, focused job, whether that is memorizing kanji, practicing a skill, or getting a straight answer. Every tool is meant to work instantly in your browser with no signup and no paywall.
Who runs this
Omnu is run by one person who likes building small, useful things. It started from my own everyday experience. While studying Japanese, looking up information I needed, and going about ordinary daily life, I kept running into moments where I thought a simpler, more focused tool would have made things easier. So I started building them, with the goal of turning those small frustrations into tools that pass real value on to other people.
Rather than one big product, the studio ships a growing shelf of tiny tools, each solving a real problem for the people trying to learn or do something.
Why it exists
A lot of genuinely helpful software never gets built because it cannot justify a subscription. A drill for a hundred kanji, a simple converter, a clear answer to a common question. These are worth making even if nobody would pay a monthly fee for them, and offering them for free means they can reach everyone with no account and no friction.
The goal is not to build the biggest thing. It is to build small things that respect your time and earn a place in your routine.
What we're working on
The first tool is Kanji Monster, a browser-based kanji drill. More tools are on the way across language learning, hobbies, and everyday questions. We plan to keep introducing a wider variety of tools over time, so stay tuned. You can always see the current lineup on the home page.
